Yipe! 5 - Help for Playing Yipe! 5
Stats
WARNING! Reading this help page may give away some of the interesting things you'll find throughout the game. So if you don't want to know ahead of time... well, don't read this page. Okay, you can read the first part. The more secret stuff is towards the bottom of the page.
Page 1: This is the general overview for your character. You'll find your Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, difficulty level and a variety of other super important attributes about your character. Like, how many chests have you found? Here's a bit more info about some of these attributes:
Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence: You'll find your current level of each of these attributes here on the Stats overview page. For more details about these, read our attributes page.
Difficulty: There are 3 difficulty levels in Yipe. Easy, Normal and Hard. On Hard, there are more monsters in combat, they are tougher, it's harder to find things and really... just everything is harder. If you're just playing to enjoy yourself and not grind a lot... I'd go with easy or normal.
Special Level: When you create a new character you get to pick a special ability that can be used in combat to help you. Over time, you'll be able to increase the level of that ability so that it does even more cool things in combat.
Gardener Hut Level: This won't show up right away. Not until you find the Gardener Hut. A few other stats are like this, showing up over time. Your Hut level is based on helping the Gardener out with tasks throughout the game.
Page 2: This stats page shows you all the equipment you have. There are 6 slots for equipment, from your Weapon to your 5 armor slots. When you see a number next to each item, that's the Weapon Value or Armor Value of the item.
Some items have both attack and defensive values, so you might see:
Spiked Helmet (1, 6)
That means it has a Weapon Value of 1 and an Armor Value of 6. Pretty much the higher the number, the better.
You'll also see certain items get upgraded with special effects as you progress in the game.
Pages 3, 4, 5: Who doesn't want to track how many of each Zombie Bunny and every other Yipe monster they've killed over the course of the game? Well, here you go!
Page 6: Quest List! This page will show you a list of each quest you've completed or are working on. Click on any of the quests in the list and you'll get a bit more info.
Page 7: Special Items & Secrets! Okay, here we explain a few items for you. Remember that warning at the top of this page? Here's where you might not want to know about some things until you play the game.
Lucky Zombie Rabbit Foot: You'll earn this after taking out that first boss monster you find. It doubles as 2 things that benefit you. It will fill your 'Amulet' spot in your items slot if you don't have a better one. Once you have a better one, it remains as a special item that helps you get lucky in combat. Yeap. Helps you be more likely to hit a monster, so that's pretty cool.
Spray Bottle of Weed Killer: Once you find this amazing item, you'll want to open up your items window and immediately use it. It will then spray your weapon with weed killer. What does that do? Well, it helps you slice and dice 'plant' type monsters in the game. Awesome!
Waist Bag: You start the game with the capacity to carry 12 items. You know, cheeseburgers and such to heal yourself when you're out exploring. Once you find this item, you'll get an extra 2 item spots. And who wouldn't want to wear a sweet Waist Bag while out and about?
Backpack: This is another item that you can find to increase your carrying capacity. You can have both this and the Waist Bag. The backpack will increase your capacity by 5.
Waterproof Shoe Spray: Similar to the weed killer, use this and it will coat your boots with waterproof shoe spray. That will surely allow you to walk into water, right? I think so. Try it out. Okay, maybe not allll water... but some. Somewhere. You'll find the path.
Secrets: You'll also find a count of how many secrets you've found throughout the game here. If you're really stuck on this... finish the game. It will give you some hints on how to find any secrets you missed.
